Frequently Asked Questions

What are the boarding requirements?

Health & Safety Requirements:

  • Current rabies vaccination
  • Up-to-date vaccinations OR titer test showing adequate protection levels
  • Current flea/tick prevention is mandatory – Our country farm setting with long grass and wooded areas requires protection against Kentucky ticks

Behavioral Requirements:

  • Must be crate trained (please inform us of any separation anxiety concerns)
  • Must be dog-friendly or neutral – no aggressive behavior toward other dogs
  • Free pre-boarding evaluation at our facility to ensure good fit
  • Testimonials from previous daycare, boarding, or training facilities are also accepted

Are there breed or size restrictions?

Absolutely not! We welcome all breeds and sizes. Every dog is evaluated individually to determine if Stay and Play is the right fit for their unique personality and needs.

Do dogs need to be spayed or neutered?

No! We welcome intact dogs based on their individual temperament and behavior. However, we cannot accommodate females in heat during their stay.

Where does my dog stay during boarding?

Your dog becomes a true member of our family, staying in our home with their own comfortable crate equipped with blankets and fresh water. They’ll sleep and eat meals privately in their crate while spending the rest of their time as part of our pack.

When I need to leave the home, each dog is safely secured in their own individual crate or kennel space. This isn’t just for security – it also gives anxious dogs a calm, quiet space and prevents any potential conflicts between pets. I have security cameras monitoring the kennel areas, so I can check on everyone remotely and ensure they’re comfortable while I’m away.

Will my dog be lonely during their stay?

Never! Amanda’s own pack of seven dogs, ranging from 10 to 110 pounds, ensures your pup always has compatible playmates regardless of their size or play style. There’s always a friend ready for adventure!

What should I bring for their stay?

Keep it simple! Just bring:

  • Your dog’s regular food (to maintain their routine)
  • A big smile – they’re heading to camp!

Optional items:

  • Favorite bed or blanket for their crate (though expect it to get gloriously dirty from outdoor adventures!)

Please leave at home:

  • Toys (we provide our own and manage them to prevent possessiveness issues and loss in our expansive yard)

Can I check on my dog during their stay?

Absolutely! We love keeping families connected:

  • Text updates: Regular photos sent directly to you
  • Social media: Follow our channels for videos of daily play and adventures
